Purpose:This study is a secondary analysis using claims data from the National Health Insurance Service to identify factors related to the medical utilization of integrated nursing care services in patients with bilateral primary knee arthropathy.
Methods:We conducted a hierarchical logistic regression analysis to investigate whether patient¡¯s characteristics and healthcare system features influence the utilization of integrated nursing and caregiving services among primary knee osteoarthritis patients.
Results:Indicated that factors such as higher age, medical insurance type as medical benefit, treatment department being neurosurgery or surgery, hospitalization route through the emergency room, length of stay between 31 to 90 days, public establishment, bed size of 300 or more, higher bed occupancy rate, and the greater number of nurses per 50 beds were associated with a higher likelihood of using an integrated ward (p£¼0.05).
Conclusion:This study offers essential foundational data to address the structural challenges of integrated nursing care services, the allocation of nursing personnel, and regional disparities in integrated wards.
